My tongue split being done using a cautery gun. Apparently it smelled like BBQ. Yummy!

To save people asking the same questions.... Yes, it did hurt. It hurt a lot. I was having my tongue burned in half so of course it hurt.

There was a local anaesthetic used but it didn't fully take so for most of it I felt the full level of pain.

No, I was not unconscious, My calm appearance was due to me focusing on getting through the pain.

Also, please don't ask why I got it done. If you have to ask then you'll probably never know.

It was probably about two months in total before I got used to controlling it. If you can already roll your tongue you're off to a good start.

@Dave120281 i hope to have mine done in the next couple of years i have been thinking about getting it for almost three years now. However, i just got my ears scalpelled, the first ear didnt hurt i could just feel it but by the time we got to the second it was pretty painful lol........pain makes no difference to me if i want something bad enough (i dont enjoy it, i endure it)....how much was charged for your split?
