  • Tony Marino (still alive and in his 80's - looks like he's 50!) was best known in the Pittsburgh territory as "The Battman". He was the Number 2 babyface behind Bruno Sammartino and often teamed with him. Oddly enough, Tony wore the entire Batman costume and mask on TV, but usually wrestled arena shows without mask or costume. He was always in incredible shape and was billed as a bodybuilding champion. Check "Studio Wrestling Reunion" on YouTube and you'll see recent footage of him.

  • Any posts of Don McClarty anywhere?

  • McLarty was a powerful Irishman who in the end simply had too much muscle for Marino, and was also well ahead in terms of talent. A really good match, however.

  • Any relation to Mike Marino the British wrestler in the 70s and 80s?

  • Would love to see more Tony Marino wrestling matches. Hope someone can find some and post them on you tube

  • To be honest, this looks like "real" wrestling before it became an acting role. This was a very match and great sportsman like conduct at the end.

  • Pretty good stuff! Th eonly thing missing is those old time leopard print strong man outfits and an iron anvil at 500 pounds. Thanks for sharing.....

  • nice little bout with a great finishing move

  • That's an interesting finish with the neck hold and leg grapevine, the announcer refers to it as a sleeper, have never seen that type of submission.

  • Some great well worked holds. Nothing rushed, the legwork is well applied and worked to perfection and so are the counters
