Cool. Never been in colorado city that much. wherever I drift I prefer to stay outside of town. I spend several weeks a year workin at my stepgrandfather's place several miles south of c city. And I go visit my great grandmother who lives on this property.

Yes. Step family. This place is on the south side of westbrook and the north fenceline is the railroad tracks.

(continued) My Great grand father was an Optometrist and a Jeweler. There is still a pane of glass with his name on it on one of the boarded up buildings downtown. They would go to the Methodist church, and I would go to the Baptist Church right next door. After church, I'd sit in Pa's lap and he'd feed me fried chicken.
I see the old C. City Drug is for sale now. 59K asking price....I am a pharmacist, but doubt I could make a living there.

(continued-2) I almost bought some land in Westbrook a few years ago. If you'd like to sell your grandpa's farm some day, let me know, I'd be interested. I have lots and lots of childhood memories around Colorado City and Westbrook. My cousin and his dad worked the Spade Ranch. I have many memories on that old ranch land as well.

Well last november when I was down there there was several places for sale in the westbrook area. but I don't think my step family down there will ever let this piece of land go.

You say it was your grandfather's farm? My mother was born and raised along with her 7 siblings on a farm in Westbrook back in the 40's thru the 60's...last name is Butler. They sold the farm but kept the minerals. I love to bird hunt out at that old farm. I'm nearly 50 yrs old now. Lived in Colorado City till I was 8. Lived w/ my great grandmother and Great grand father...Oscar Majors, in what is now "The Heritage House".

What is her last name? I'm sure my mother knows her. My mom went to high school in Westbrook. Her name is Linda Bulter-Majors. Her remaining siblings are: Artie Butler, Brenda Butler, Norman (Snookie) Butler, Ed Butler. Mom's parents were Coit and Lela Butler. Remnants of their old farm house are still there.
