We are for the first time since the demise of marxism as an ideology, facing another very insistent comprehensive ideology which is claiming to address, economic, political, social, every aspect of life, and that is islamism. When people of different cultures, religions arrived in the UK, they should have been welcomed here on the basis of christian hospitality. Multiculturalism was then invented by default because they were trying to forget where they came from, they didn't know us, so we allowed them to live their own lives seperatley from the rest of us. There are many cities in the UK which are segregated, the majority of which have large muslim populations. We now live in a time where christians are shunned, its influence is being eroded while other faiths in particular islam is being promoted. I'm not overly religious but i'd rather see christianity as a benchmark to live by than an islamic one.
