Thanks for this review. have read some scathing reviews from people who say it has interlacing probs. Would you buy one for someone who wants to make shorts. Is there anything else in this price range that competes. Thanks again

Can you take digital stills and shoot video at the same time. If so, I'll get this to replace my Panasonic HDC-HS300 (which is almost too awesome itself).
