We did this video during our visit by our partner school in Baumgartsbrunn / Namibia. This year we invited 4 students of Robert-Wetzlar-Berufaskolleg from Bonn. Those students worked on various projects with the girl of the Domestic Institute. One of the project was to make a list typical sentences the Namibian students could need when working in any touristic facility and addressing a German tourist.

This video is a result of this project.

  • @LucretiaEV Maybe because she speaks Hochdeutsch

  • @Parodyus

she speaks Hochdeutsch but then you still can hear a slight touch of her regional dialekt. Like when she says: durch /dʊɪʃ/

  • It was strange for me, the way she pronounces "durch" .. is that a regional pronunciation? it sounded similar to /dʊɪʃ/

  • @LucretiaEv

it's a normal way to pronounces "durch" in German.

  • 0.56 bei uns sounds like bei ons, is this right?

  • @davegery

no, she's saying: bei uns and it sounds correct. The sound quality isn't really good. We did this lesson during our visit at our partner school in Namibia, Baumgartsbrunn: The Domestic Institute.

  • Smile! :) I like the words at the bottom. I can never get mine to look so good on my videos. (nor my accent ;)

    Keep up the good work!

  • Keep going!

  • The problem with German is not the vocabulary but the difficult grammar, at least for me. I can speak reasonable German, but I cannot write a decent letter. The German receiver of this letter would laugh his/her guts out reading it.

  • hahaha diese frau macht mich aggresiev :DDDDDD

  • Ich finds schlecht.

  • she talks like a robot

are germans all so cold like her??? can she smile

german hospitality, now thats a joke

  • Tisch, durch, Fisch

Das hörte sich sehr komisch an. Das war keine korrekte Aussprache.

    Drei-Gang-Menü

Es heißt Drei-Gänge-Menü. Nach dem Wort drei folgt logischerweise der Plural...
