Steely Dan - "Aja": Steve Gadd drum fills - (drum cover) by Frank McVeigh

No...this isn't how Steve Gadd played this - unless it's by accident.
This is just my interpretation of the drum parts - no transcription, just listened to the (always excellent) Steely Dan recording.

My humble tribute to the impeccable, amazing Steve Gadd.

  • Frank McVeigh, lovely stuff there... ran across you just by accident here at YouTube. I'm in L.A. and wish we had met long ago - I could have used you in my band. We could have made beautiful music together. Really. I gave up drumming 30 years ago for guitar, and am still trying to find an instinctive drummer in this town. Keep up the good work, and keep posting - I''ll be watching. Best of luck.

  • @GenTorrio I have been playing DW's since about 2003. They are very nice. I think they are comparable to Yamaha, Sonor, Pearl, Tama. If you take the time to tune carefully...they will all sound good. Actually, I just like buying American..!

  • @artjock47 How long have you had your DW kit? and what do you think of them compared to other brands??

  • @GenTorrio ...thanks..! Aquarian Studio X

  • What type of heads are those? they sound great. awesome job btw.

  • @daewoozoo ...Thanks - you're welcome..!

  • This was an excellent instructional video. I was having a lot of difficulty listening for the patterns. This has clarified some of the trickier parts for me. Thanks for posting. Keep up the great work.
