Lucky you, I can't restore back to any time period because I never did... I can't even go back to when I first got the computer.

wow.... if only i had malwarebytes before i got hit with this virus... i kept trying to get it and it wouldnt let meh even download it.. did a restore to a week ago and you can bet i am downloading malwarebytes right this second...

Maybe it's the wrong virus.If not, The only important thing is that you follow what i do on Malware bytes exactly. You have to delete the virus after the scan.You may have to run the full scan.

is it supposed to say "cannot import C:\Users\Name\Desktop\fix.reg: the specified file is not a registry script. you can only import binary registry files from within the registry editor." when i double click on the fix.reg?

No.
you can go to your "START" button-
select "Run. . ."
inside the box type "Regedit"
click "OK"
Select "File" - Go down to "EXPORT"
Select your "Desk Top" to save it on
Name the file "fix.reg" and save.
go back to your desk top- and open the file with "Notepad"- then copy and paste what I have on the side bar, and follow the instructions after that.
