in which we struggle with food is the degree in which our disorder has taken over our lives. If we could measure this disorder, we would be astonished of the depth in which it controls us. To give you an idea, go to the Babelgum
web site and search for the documentary "The Stockholm Solution" ..you will be ASTONISHED by the new discovery in eating disorder. It has made psychiatry obsolete!!. .

As I said the taxi driver is us! It is indeed a tragedy that the mere act of eating can be so devastating to our lives. We may not admit but we have -in varying degrees- an eating disorder, respectively. . To the degree

some are destined to catch on, some arent, its all about bursting out the bubble and for me personally, taking recreational drugs opened my bubble and gave me the flexible outlook to benefit from life's secrets, like i said, destination

and what we need to know is not so much about WHAT to eat but HOW to eat. It is truly astonishing that the mere ACT OF eating can devastate the lives of so many. While bulimia is extreme in the spectrum of eating disorders, we nevertheless fall somewhere in between. The swedish scientist said that these sick young girls are "learning to eat again" which carries with it profound psychological significance that mainstream psychiatry knows nothing of. we ALL need to learn to eat again

they said, respectively, "I don't know. ..something clicked in my head"....
"I can't explain it" said another.
These scientists have proven that their treatments works for bulimia and anorexia but the psychiatric community ignores it. while it's obvious that most people are not that sick, nevertheless, we carry with us -in varying degrees- an eating disorder that no amount of advice or reading can cure. I truly admire your concern and care but there is more we still need to know...

of billions spent on nutrition and self help books, of doctors telling us time and time again that exercise is essential yet we don't eat or exercise right?
it seems to me that we are missing something, a kind of knowledge outside our experience and is not privy to the intellect or the rational mind.
When I saw the documentary "The Stockholm Solution" the two swedish scientist
tapped into it when it was asked by the 3 young girls in eating disorder treatment, how did the treatment work?

I didn't get your name in the beginning....in reference to the taxi driver, who was setting himself up for disaster, well he's among millions who do very much the same-myself included. When you said that " there is always something blocking him -and us- from eating right, I believe it is here that reason, common sense, encouragment, and all the knowledge on eating right has reached its end.
Why is it that after decades of diet and exercise programs...
I think it's important to think of health as a process. It won't and shouldn't happen over night. Start with baby steps. For me it started with walking more and having more home cooked meals rather than take out and after awhile I found take out didn't appeal to me (or treat me) the same. I have since quit smoking and no longer drink alcohol. I eat a 80%/20% diet (80% being healthy), run, joined the gym and I'm 20lbs lighter. Change takes time, be patient and stick with it. It's so worth it.
