This is my game footage of Moon Patrol for the ColecoVision game system. Actually, this version is a graphic hack by me to reconstruct the graphics and title screen hacked by the original programmer himself long time ago. The common version of this game is called "Matt Patrol" by IRATA (which is the word Atari, but backwards) where one type of ennemies looks like flying brassieres. So, I did replace the brassieres by (I think) the appropriate ennemy animation, and fix the title screen the best I can before recording this footage.

Footage recorded with BlueMSX 2.8.2

  • Nice-- makes me want to hunt one down. Looks better than on the Atari 800XL

  • Unfortunately, you'll not find a cartridge of this. This is one of the games that was not published due to some people calls "videogame crash". Only a prototype was found and the binary file was generously donated by the programmer himself and called "Matt Patrol" because of his name.

  • What the heck? George Jetson? Haha, nice. I can't remember if I had this or the C64 version as a kid, but this is one of the games that defined my childhood.

    Meeeeemorieeees...

  • i'll have to do a review of the intellivision one soon

  • It looks better than on 800xe. 2600 version is balls.

  • Those graphics are quite nice with all the features MN12 spoke of. Hell, the whole game looks fun!

  • DEVO IS ATTACKING ME!!!

  • I love Moon Patrol! Shame it wasn't officially released back then.

  • Well you know MN12BIRD, Moon Patrol was one of the earliest linear side-scrolling shoot'em ups and the first arcade game to feature parallax scrolling. :)
