The All-New Super Friends Hour introduced super hero guest stars in 1977. Rima, the heroine of Victorian literature was adapted by DC Comics in a comic book series 'Rima the Jungle Girl' in 1974. Rima first appeared in the adventure novel, 'Green Mansions: A Romance of the Tropical Forest', published in 1904 by Argentine-British writer W. H. Hudson. Hudson based Rima on the South American legend about a lost tribe of white people who lived in the mountains. This cartoon, 'The River of Doom' features the team up of Wonder Woman and Rima.

Rima resembles an Amazonian Native American with white hair in the SF series. It seems that DC decided to stay with this ethnic group for her, according to her article in Wikipedia. Actually it makes her more interesting than a female version of Tarzan...
