I've always maintained that Case backhoes are the worst thing going, at least as far as the back end of the machine is concerned. They make good operators look less - 'good'.

Well, I was dead wrong! I had all but forgotten the hellish pleasure/pain (mostly pain) experience of operating Bobcat's infamous backhoe attachments. I've been lucky enough lately that I haven't had to operate one of them in probably three or four years, and it probably shows.

At any rate, having to operate one of these is something that might happen to you if you were to open one of those little HellRaiser puzzle boxes. Out pops one of these backhoe attachments, with Pinhead in the operator's seat. Next thing you know, you're chained and hooked in, as part of the machine, digging miles and miles of trenches...

The concrete breaker, on the other hand, is a very nice one. I think it's a real improvement over the older series.

It won't bother me at all if this is the last time I 'get' to operate one of these things. For those of you who actually LIKE them, well - you can have them! Enjoy!

  • Why didn't you bring the 430 there?

  • @awojtacki

    Several reasons, actually.

First, the boss/owner of the machine, has a rather perverse love for 709 backhoe attachments, and will (well, 'would', actually, since I don't work there now) often talk the customer into a bobcat with a backhoe attachment when a bobcat AND excavator would be better suited to the job. This of course leads to reason two, which is...

The customer gets what the customer orders...

  • @awojtacki

As I was saying, the customer gets what the customer orders, which in this case was the bobcat and backhoe attachment, probably because the boss told him it was a good idea.

And lastly, because there was a LOT of material to be moved around the work site from point A to point B. But I didn't make a video of that, so it isn't evident from this video.

    Fair question though.

  • Whats wrong with Case backhoes, and the Bobcat 709?

If you think any of those are bad, try a JCB backhoe. I run a 2000 214e 4x4 at skill center, its jumpy, touchy, doesn't have any digging power, and is too heavy in the rear.

I know some people like that, Willie.

  • wthf are you all retarded or just on stupid pills

  • @virus56777

I suspect a little of both.

Don't dare to tell again that a bobcat is "junk". A Bobcat is an original moneymaker.

  • fast, fast, fast! lets fucking moveeeeeee ittttttttt!! I'm a fucking BALLERINA on a fucking Bobcat/Skidsteer (CASE 440) with Concrete Breaker Attachment. By the way, your machine is junk, so is the breaker. Horrible!

  • @kimchiman1000 Yeah, probably the customer didn't want to pay for two machines, and your boss didn't want you to make 2 trips to the shop. Like I said I like the 911, but I'll only use it if I'm backed in a corner or in a pinch.

  • I have a 911 that hooks up to my 843. I don't mind backhoe attachments, but I'd never use it unless it was necessary. I have a Bobcat 337 excavator that's the greatest thing ever. Although when it's rainy, snowy, or cold it sucks to be you on that backhoe. Ahh the good old days.
