The dial on the compact camera is turned to 'Movie'. Mostly shot using a monopod. Derby's annual spectacular at the end of September in and around the Market Place. Featuring in order: 'The Big Wheel'; 'Beautiful Creatures: AirQuarium'; 'Whaley Grange: Pig'; 'Lucid Productions: Sink Dancing'; 'Les 3 Points de Suspension: Journey on the edge of the end of the World'; 'Quad : Big Scribble'; Sarruga: Peixos'; 'Mambo con Rumbo'; Déda; Lee Hunter; 'Absolute Salsa Team' and the people of Derby.

Sorry for the length but I couldn't cut it down any further. The original file is 8.73gb. Edited in Final Cut Pro X on an iMac.

  • I was filming in public spaces at a free public event where there were many cameras being used. Have found from hard experience there are often bans on filming movies in private spaces and paid public events, unlike shooting stills. It's wise to ask if in doubt. Cheers.

  • @Scobieboy468 A 32gb card is more than enough if you are doing a lot of shooting and not too expensive on Ebay. Also I have two spare batteries (also bought on Ebay). You may find you need to increase storage space on your computer. The S95 is very forgiving and easy to use. Don't be afraid to try anything. If it doesn't work out it can be deleted instantly, unlike film. Happy New Year and happy shooting. Cheers.

  • @Scobieboy468 Hi Scobie, Nothing special. I don't use the anti shake or wind noise reduction. For movies make sure it's on widescreen, 16x9, not 4x3, HD, 'Standard'. Also it's important to point at what you want to shoot and press the shutter once to focus... practice. Don't use the zoom while shooting. It makes a noise which is recorded. Playing back on the camera there is no sound but it is recorded. ALWAYS attach camera to your wrist with the strap!! One guy has dropped his already!! Cheers.

  • Hello again Ditcher, hope you all had a good Christmas, can you tell me what you think are the best settings for the S95 when shooting video, like which settings did you use for your video, and you were right my wife is very pleased with the S95.

All the best from N. Ireland and the new year.

  • @Scobieboy468 Hi, Thanks for your comment. Your wife won't be disappointed. It couldn't be easier to use. A monopod it makes all the difference in keeping it steady for movies. I use Final Cut Pro X and then bring it into iMovie and straight to 'Export' rather than direct to YouTube (not recommended at all). That cuts the movie size to less than half and is perfect for YouTube. Happy shooting. Will look out for the results. Incidentally the sound is truly amazing too. Cheers, ditcher41a2.

  • Love the Movie, just ordered the S 95 for my wife for Christmas, I use an Apple Mac with Final cut pro, which program did you use to convert the files.

    Thanks Richard.
