Here we are, once again, for our last ride in Eastern Africa.

This time we decided to go round Mount Kenya. It was truly tough and I suggest to all those who intend to train hard to actually take into consideration spending a weekend in Meru.

The road between Meru and Chuka has practically no flats with hills with grades ranging from 10% to 15%. Some of these hills can span across kilometers of distance.

From Nanyuki to Chuka you will have to climb 2.2 Km in less than 130 Km.

It took us only 3 days. Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

We broke down our ride in the following way

Day 1
Nairobi -- Nanyuki: 196 Km

Day 2
Nanyuki -- Chuka: 133 Km (toughest day, by far)

Day 3
Chuka -- Nairobi: 172 Km (easiest day)

We slept in Nanyuki and Chuka. Nairobi is home. We spent on average 600 Kes per room per night and not more than 600 Kes for food every day excluding water, nuts, yogurts and other "treats" we found in the kiosks along the way.

The entire ride cost us less than 50 USD for 3 full days of fun, pain and laughter :-)
