  • @dividernull No inconvenience at all :)) And thanks for commenting. Ciao

  • love the movie but the music is driving me crazy it sucks

  • KGB decides what interests KGB. Best line of the movie. And so true. Still today.

  • WOW1

  • This is such an underrated thriller from the 80s; spare, sympathetic, never exploitative or clichéd (nor exotic) in its depiction of Soviet life. And it benefits from the restrained direction of Apted and the excellent writing of Dennis Potter (The Singing Detective, Pennies from Heaven, etc.) If you ever get a chance, check out Potters mini-series adaptation of "The Past is Myself" named "Christabel" and made for BBC/PBS about 20 years ago - about a British woman married to a German in WW II.

  • P.S. Actually this movie is awesome. It is pretty realistic depiction of 80's soviet background reality - I mean totally corrupted party officials, KGB etc. There is one another movie, which is pretty similar to this one. It is called "Black square"(Черный квадрат), it was filmed in 1991-1992, originally in Russian.

  • @LKloup Now I've got it! It seems like I just had misunderstood your words a little.

Sorry, if I made any inconvenience to you.

  • @dividernull That's what I meant : 1983 is before the end of the Soviet empire and System (1989-90) ... «The action takes place before the end of the Soviet empire and System (1989-90).»

  • @LKloup Excuse me, but you're wrong, this movie can't be about end of soviet era at 1989-90, because it was filmed in 1983.

  • This is a beautiful movie. I watched it in the 80s. I'll watch it again, from beginning to end. The action takes place before the end of the Soviet empire and System (1989-90). Good action and, above all, deeply moving, Thanks.
