  • Does your rotary sewing machine use special size needles? thanks :)

  • @FloralWhite88

No just regular needle singer 2020 style I guess. I am not a sewer so I am not sure of the standards I have a box that says 15x1h also that works

  • Hey i got this exzct machine, some ole lady threw it out,and the table,im not sure either how old it is,can some one email me,and tell me more on this machine, how old it is,and i have that exact machine in this video, cept, model number starts with 43-177079 and not FR its mint, and came with a table that looks fairly old,im guessing ina hundred year time frame, some help please, and links to value etc, thanks to all, thanks fatty,my email it Timberwolf48@verizon.net

  • @BrairRabbit48

Mine are 43-176156( number on a name plate) the one in the video. I have another that is made for a table like you describe it has a number that is cast into the body, it reads 43x71671.

I looked into this a couple years ago. If I recall White started the brown crinkle finish in the early 1940s and ended it by 1950. I couldn't date mine any closer than that.

  • Where did you get this?

  • The machine is from ebay, the method of threading is from trial and error.

  • who'd thought that when my aunt gave me this sewing machine, that there would be a video on here,,I'd thought I'd just check and see. and there it was..so thankful. Mine is a donmastic 151 I don't know how old that is. but this is great! Thanks again

  • @fatty2027 oh okay thanks! I was just wondering because I picked up 4 packs of Rotary DD1221 needles at a thrift store the other day. At the store they looked just like standard needles used today. After getting home and comparing them to my own modern needles, I found that they were longer in length and couldn't be used in my 2010 Janome. Ugh. oh well. Thanks for your quick reply and Happy New Year to you!

  • @kdesign4485 would you be able to copy the manual or any pages from it to pdf. I have the manual for mine but some of the pages have parts ripped off

  • don't understand

  • @BrairRabbit48 My grandmother had this exact machine, and she bought it in 1942 when my mother was born.

  • I have this exact same machine. it was my mother's. She bought it new in 1957. I have the original manuals and certificate of warranty. Its still runs great and I use it.

  • Thanks for the video. I couldn't figure out how the thread hooked into the tensioner.

I haven't been able to find any mfg date info on my Dressmaster "Domestic Special". It must be newer than yours because it has a bakelite drive wheel.
