This 3D animation shows an endovascular procedure for an abdominal aortic aneurysm. Abdominal aortic aneurysm (also known as AAA, pronounced "triple-a") is a localized dilatation (ballooning) of the abdominal aorta exceeding the normal diameter by more than 50 percent. In an endovascular procedure catheters are used to place a stent graft in the aneurysm.

  • This is an amazing procedure

  • if Aneurysms occur in arteries at the base of the brain will this repair helps??

  • What happens to residual blood within the aneurysm when the graft is placed? Also, does then aneurysm naturally reduce in size over time due to the lessened pressure?

  • At my hospital we still do the open procedure. Wish we had this though : /

  • @hazemalsaadi you are correct. But now another question just occurred to me.Since God created the universe, would that mean he created your aneurysm too?

  • @Samura1gamer If I was going to pray rather than a surgery, then it would be to the one who created all humanity (including Jesus). That would be God

  • @Samura1gamer troll

  • why not pray to jesus to fix the aneurysm instead?

  • So awesome. I love these vid's. And a Happy New Year to you. :o)
