Thanks Gezza for the date, looking at the Melbourne TV schedule for that day, Channels 2, 9 and 0 all presented live coverage of this event from 4.30 to 5.00pm. HSV7 had "This Week Has Seven Days" from 4.00pm to 6.00pm so being an educational show for children they may have crossed live to witness the eclipse as well.
man i remember that.i was about 10 living at the basin..i remember everyone saying dont look at it cause you will go blind..good work with the footage again mate. DD
I remember this! Experienced it as a kid in my backyard in St Kilda! Had no idea it was televised. For me it remains a strong memory of childhood...
