Thom Yorke performs what he describes as "works in progress" songs 'Open the Floodgates' and 'Skirting the Surface' during the first encore of the second night of the 'Atoms for Peace' show at the Fox Theater in Oakland California, April 15, 2010.
watching from approx. 11 feet away, it was obvious something had happened, during the set break. after the show , thom explained to a small group of us behind the fox theater that he had been informed of the eruption of a volcano that had spread darkness as far as heathrow airport where his family was supposed to be flying out to meet up with him. ...i think he did a brilliant job finishing the next two sets plus hanging out after the show.. a brilliant human..he brings light in
reviewers dont mean shit in the realm of radiohead. To a fan, live shows are the most positive experience you can have. I wish I could have gone to this one as he played a lot more new material than he did at Santa Barbara, but still was amazing
The douchebag SFgate reviewer wrote about this as if it was a low point in the show. Somehow seeing thom yorke work on new stuff didn't seem like a low-point to me. He also said that Flea didn't serve much purpose other than to be goofy. Maybe he was at a different show or something. Thanks for posting this part. I was wondering when it would surface. (no pun intended)
