Slag Gay off at your peril, I grew up with him on TV and looking back at these interviews am confirmed in my view that he was an outstanding interviewer - slow, sensitive, non-interruptive - he let the interviewee speak. Lots of the new folk could learn from this. Slow down and let 'em chat!
