@DantaKryst in spanish its call i griega. Which means greek "i" same thing in french but in spanish its use more often than most other romance language and it used for native spanish words as a"j" sound.

Why are so many people saying "i grec" doesn't mean anything? It does...
Y was used only in words from Greek origines, at a certain time, since it was not a latin letter.
Indeed in Greek Y is called "upsilon", it became V in Latin, so it was taken as Y again to transcribe foreign words.
Same thing for Z which became G then Z was reintroduce etc.
I found a Wikipedia page about Phoenician alphabet...at the roots.
So please "i grec" has the write to be called so, lol!
