Heavy rainfall on Sunday 20th January and the preceding days meant severe flooding of the Dyfi/Dovey Valley when the river overflowed its banks in several places.
As usual the A487 main road was completely blocked with flood water, and also as usual, one or two people tried to get through and failed. On this video you can see a Transit Van abandoned in the water.
This video shows the flooding from both sides of the bridge, also from the hills overlooking the valley, and from the railway station at Machynlleth where train services were suspended for the afternoon.

  • I lived there then in Pennal, just down the road!

  • quran surah 13 -- ayat 31 "..........evil will appear near where evil is being done "

at 0,40 behind that hill is " Bron-Yr-Aur "...that is place in britain where men are kidnapped , brain surgeon then sticks mans head onto sheeps body so " IT " is still alive. That is reason of this flood ..........and i been visiting there

  • You'd think the force of the water would have torn out the footings to the piers. Amazing it held!

  • I got a story in my books about this palce because I was coming home from North Wales after spending the weekend with a women up there back in 2004 and I got stuck here because it was flooded, My God, I had never seen so much water in all my life, we get floods here in the Gwendreath Valley but nothing like this place,

  • thats the worst i've seen it i cant believe the bridge can hold it all
