Don Clark was a full back as well. He was a very big man, usually the biggist on the field but unusally for the time a full back. He could kick thr ball prodigus distances. The old balls used in those days were all leather (not synthetic like today) and became very heavy when wet. He still make of 50 yards (60 meters) were no problem for him.

@dyklet they are 2 different players: Don Clark was a flanker, Don Clarke a full back, both from New Zealand. Just an e..

No JPR was a full back, although due to an injury crisis he did play one game as a flanker vs Australia in 1978 in Sydney I think.

The JPR one was vs the All Blacks in 1971. Ive seen a couple of Don Clark ones from the 60s but cant get copies. Ive also seen a couple of his massive (missed) penalties from well inside his own half against Wales at Cardiff in 1964. The ball hit the uprights both times ! You should see how the post shake when the ball stricks !
