  • Hi. Whats your network interfaces configuration on the server and w7 machine?

I can't seem to be able to make my W/ VM join my domain, have done everything.

Please give me some hints. My host machine is able to join it but none of my VMs can :(

  • @XxMemphis In my environment, I use only "Bridge" mode, so that all of the VMs are on the same network and can join the domain. What is your network interface configurations?

  • @XxMemphis Oops, sorry about the FB post - I have been swamped with stuff at home and I don't check FB too often. Tell me what the DNS settings are on each machine please.

  • @PCAddictsLive primary: 10.0.0.22, secondary: 10.0.0.1 (also tried leaving it blank)

  • @XxMemphis On all your machines? The same as what you just typed? Also can you ping your DNS server from the client machine you are trying to join?

  • Would cloning the VM do anything weird with activation or would it be fine since it's already activated? What if both are running at the same time?

  • @lhamil64 True... The way I normally work with my Virtual Machines, is use them in trial mode (not activate them). For me, they are only used for testing. I was thinking about this, and without actually looking into it, I think you would probably be presented with an activation request at some point. I will try and find out for sure though.

  • @PCAddictsLive I left a message on your facebook's wall. Host: 10.0.0.6/24 gateway: 10.0.0.1 primary: 10.0.0.22 w2008: 10.0.0.22/24 gateway: 10.0.0.1 primary: 10.0.0.22 (itself) W7: 10.0.0.11/24 gateway: 10.0.0.1 primary: 10.0.0.22 Only my Host computer joins the domain, the w7 says: domain name not found.
  • @PCAddictsLive OK. I feel like it might cause issues since it would show up as two computers activated with the same key. But, it seems ridiculous to buy two copies of Windows just to have two VMs...

  • @lhamil64 Ooh, that's a great question!!! I will look into this and get back to you! Thanks for asking!!
