i used 20% pva glue to 80% water with a drop of washing up liquid in just sprayed it all over track included in a fine mist took about 2 to 3 days to dry completely then just cleaned the track down check it out on my vids keep going looking good its about the same stage as me
what kind aof ballest are you useing? if you can i would try to get your hands on some senice cement from woodland senics, it works good but you have to give it 3 days to dry sloidly

mine only sat about a day and it was perfectly dry. but then again i have n scale
