  • What, have you joined the army or something? I'm european, and not even the police wear fire-arms in my country. There is no need at all, so the only ones who use them are soldiers and registered/authorized hunters. It must be very dangerous if every nut-case or tin-foil-hat-conspiracy-freak wear firearms? Jeez!:)

  • @winterstellar I'm not worried about tin-foil-hat people carrying guns. They just want to live their lives and be left alone. I'm worried about being mugged on my way to or from the coffee shop (or elsewhere). There was recently a stabbing right near one of my favorite coffee shops (not too far from a government surveillance camera, BTW).

Here's a book recommendation (if your government will give you permission to read it): "More Guns Less Crime" by John Lott.

  • @winterstellar There are plenty of police carrying firearms in Europe. Germany, Italy, France, Spain just to name a few. I bet there are also plenty of criminals carrying firearms in your country, even if the police don't. Here in the United States, private ownership of firearms is a constitutional right.
