Irn-Bru - It's Fizzy, It's GINGER, It's Phenomenal!

Fantastic to see that when the Scots appear to be using more and more English terms to replace their own language, that Irn-Bru are using the word "GINGER" to refer to carbonated soft drinks. This has laways been the preferred Scottish way to describe these drinks but over the last few years we have witnessed the use of pathetic English terms like "juice and "pop" being used by Scottish children to ask for a bottle or can of GINGER! It's GINGER and it's always been GINGER!

Again the whole point is that "ginger" had fallen out of use and that's why Barr's are using it in the advert. You must be quite young if you don't use it in Lanarkshire. Ask your dad!

Unfortunately, while not everyone uses the term "ginger" Barr's ARE using it in their advert. Email them and they'll confirm that the word is to describe the type of drink, not the colour. Also you'll see from the other comments that quite a few folk still use it as well. Sorry your dad is English!
