http://www.CustomCarpentry.co.uk/bog Eco fitted furniture is the way of the future, in fact it is the way of the present, we have no time to waste. Eco Materials 4 Hemp Board by Tristan Titeux 2011 is all about the future we want for our children.

Hemp has an amazing history and hemp board is just one of thousands of products you can make with hemp. But before I go any further, I want to stress that it is important to find and use a variety of materials in everything we do, and not to think that hemp or any other material or product is the magic material that will replace all others, even though in fact it is, we must use as many different sources to get our materials, our food, our goods and everything we consume. Variety is very important, look what mess relying on oil got us into, we use oil for everything from the clothes we wear, the oil to run our cars, the paint in our houses, our carpets, packaging, electronic goods to our food and medicine, in fact everything is made or can be made of plastic.

Hemp is just one example of a resource that can be used to make anything that oil can make but much much better and sustainably too.

But even so, we need to use not just hemp for eveyrthing, but hemp, flax, straw, grass, trees, leaves, sunflower husks, inedible vegetable stalks and many other plants that can be grown, all plants can be used for different things, and each has it's own speciality, one maybe better for making mdf boards, one better for medicine, one better for clothing, another better for paint. So we must not get carried away with monocultures and let any company take over and get so big that it controls the worlds seed collection of hemp for example. You can imagine a world where one or two big companies own the patent to a particular strain of hemp, have managed with the power and wealth to eradicate the competing original hemp and are just selling their own genetically engineered seed that is infertile, so you can't replant the seed every year, but have to buy it from them. That is a situation you risk if you give too much enthasis on one thing.

Nature does not allow monocultures, she likes diversity, and to know what we are doing right we must look at nature for our lessons.

Hemp has an amazing history of which I have just touched on, if you are interested I suggest you type in hemp history in google and you will find lots more interesting stuff.

  • Hello @dave16747, thank you for your interest. I don't actually know the name of the company, but I can access them through a man based in Hong Kong I know, he is german and is promoting german engineering. That company don't make Hemp board everyday, but to order. I am myself looking for a musician who would like me to design and build a music studio made of hemp.

So when I have found someone who would like to use the material then I may be able to pass some to you. Where do you live?

  • @CustomCarpentryUK hey thanks for getting back to me. yeah that would be ideal I'm living Portsmouth at the moment I will private message my contact info.

  • @dave16747 I have just sent you an email, I look forward to getting to know more about what you want to do.
