My guess is the relation the piece has to there being two human beings, essentially. I'm seeing each section of the piece as a sort of deeper level, kind of like layered dreams. I get this from the way the first section drives the two characters into a deep slumber. I imagine that what happens by the end is they answer the question: I am the only thing in existence. Or am I? And the explosion of color and dust is the answer. The two have intertwined and met one another across the void.
