  • I dont even think he is out at all! I think he has nuanced the sound a little to give it a slightly different groove. A lot of guitar jazz chords have that off and unconventional sound to them. Technically, it may be difficult to reconcile the sound he is making, but creatively, I think anyone who knows music knows what this guy is doing. Hendrix did it... along with many other great musicians. So 'Sunderlanding', he is being creative not of tune... how can one be so closed minded about music?

  • Habaaaaaa!!!!!

Very nice one..Great touch on the bass and very creative. Wonderful solo. Great job guys..Keep the afrobeat fire burning !!!!

In my opinion, the Dele Sosimi AFROBEAT ORCHESTRA is the most progressive Afrobeat group out there. I always enjoy their songs.

    Make una go on s'oun.

  • i like! is it a STATUS BASS??

  • @jaimepaullamb Like I said; he's out of tune.

  • @TheDaveWallace two things: one - if you listen to the piano/synth comping, there are changes - in other words, this is not simply over a one or two chord vamp. so, if you're listening with a certain tonal center in mind, then he is certainly playing outside. two - there is the matter of micro-tones, quarter tones, etc. in non-western music. this bassist is not functioning inside of the tempered western/european harmonic system. to a westerner he is out of tune. but then so is ravi shankar, etc.

  • It's funny how many people on YouTube have perfect pitch. Perhaps they'd like to set up the intonation on all of my basses for me.

  • @Crodon Not a Status.. It's a Sei bass :-)

  • fantastic music

  • Very melodic A classic solo. Inspired by this one....

  • @bassblisterjones Looks like a Status Kingbass to me... Fixed*

  • @Machook1 : Looks like a Status Kingbass to me...

  • No, he's out of tune. It's nothing to do with creativity. It's nothing to do with playing a fretless. It's nothing to do with the recording device It's nothing to do with jazz chords. It's nothing to do with Hendrix. His intonation is just faulty BUT I really love the sound he makes and I don't think it matters at all; the clip is really beautiful. BUT He's out of tune.
