These wounds are always in my mind,
and I can't seem to grip them tight—
they're always slipping through my hands.
The world is just a play pen, for a bird
that's caught a fish fin, every feather's
pulling me apart.

The echoes in my eyes are only always
imitations of the words I want to write
within these thighs. The echoes in my eyes
are only always intimations of the figures
I would sketch into your mind,

but all these little spiders in my bed,
all these little spiders in my head,
all these little spiders in my eyes,
all these little spiders, spiders,
spiders, spiders;

"drugs don't let you down."

The world is always open wide,
but I can't get my hands inside—
they're always eyeing me in stores.
The world is just an island for
a child with hepatitis, skipping
little strokes between the stars.

The vines within my mind are only always
mediations of the things I want to write
upon the sky. The vines within my mind
are only always regulations of the things
I want to leave behind,

but all these little spiders in my bed,
all these little spiders between my legs,
all these little spiders at my breast,
all these little spiders, spiders,
spiders, spiders;

"drugs don't let you down."
