Anky van Grunsven, Dutch Olympian Interview

Her accolades include the gold medal in the 2000 Olympics with her horse Bonfire and gold in the 2004 Olympics and in the 2008 Olympics with Salinero. She dominates World Cup Dressage competition, being named the World Cup Dressage Champion eight times, in 1995, 1996, 1997, 1999, 2000, 2004, 2005, and 2006, 2008. Angelea had a unique opportunity to interview Anky while also training with her at her stable in The Netherlands.

@Parkstar2010 shes not incompetant, nobody is saying that. She is just unhumane in the way she trains her horses.

Shes clearly a good rider if shes won multiple Olympic medals and international championships. You may not like her style, but it doesn't mean shes not a good rider. She is clearly a competent rider.

anky seems like such a down to earth humble person. how people hate her i do not know, they must be jealous of her hard work and ability as a trainer.

I mean.. She admits that she is using hyperflexion, almost like she is proud of it! If i was so be confronted about my training method, specially if i was using hyperflexion, i would lower my head in shame!

It's embarrassing! It's embarrassing that something like that is to be found in equestrianism.

I don't see how anybody can see that as beautiful!

It seems like u dont understand what u are putting ur horse through using her methods!

I don't like how Anky ride A study was done with horses, and they chose themselves for the regular training, not for Hyperflexion. Hyperflexion is bad, not good. I think they should stop it! (Hyperflexion, not driving)

Anky van Grunsven is my idol ! Anyone who tries to tell me she's a bitch and is cruel to her horses can stick it where the sun don't shine :)
