dang i got mine at about the same length and its been 3months or so. he isnt half the size of yours but i have heard that a smaller tank might decrease the rate of growth? we fed him worms at the start then bigger and bigger ones and any crickets/moths small fish or small yabbies lying around. the water temp is about 25-26 degress

He was two inches long when I got him and the only food he has eaten is goldfish, yabbies and the odd shrimp.

It took just under 3 months, no pellets though, nothing but live food.
