@doc2850 We should get business out of government and business out of business. We need a libertarian communist revolution!

1:07 Spot on.

wow your such a child look up somalia before 2006 if you want a society without a system. im sure you would love living there o wait you would probably be shot on sight.
-
crony capitalism isnt to bad in comparison to the fake communism that russia, china and north korea had. We need to get the gov. out of business and get business out of gov.. like seperation of church and state one should not affect the other.

@doc2850 fuck you

Down with the system

@theshillelaghlaw "It's this weird mix of capitalism and socialism that we live with leading to bail-outs"
This is actually a specific economic system: "crony capitalism", the worst of all economic systems. The only government system which actively supports it, is fascism. We need to stop kidding ourselves. Every area of the political spectrum in the US is headed in the same direction. We've even already built 800 gigantic detention centers for "suspected terrorists".

@asaharyev Capitalism would allow the failures to fail. It's this weird mix of capitalism and socialism that we live with leading to bail-outs and artificially inflated costs.
If it weren't for government subsidies on education paid for with tax dollars the cost of college would decrease to the point where it was affordable.
If it weren't for subsidies on junk food crops we could afford real food because it would be grown rather than countless acres of GM corn for our chips and soda.

Super good video! 99% > 1%

@asaharyev You're right, technically it's fascism.
-
@KenMacMillan Bailing out corporations is not socialism if they remain private corporations. The bailouts issued are reinforcements of capitalism. The state funding capitalism is a defense of capitalism, not a move toward socialism.

there is no purpose to the occupy wall street movement there are no goals and no leaders. the reason goverment cant charge wall street with any crimes is because they techinicaly didnt do anything illegal. and any fraud will be almost impossible to prove in a court of law. The goverment does not have the right to fire CEOs.
everyone who gets a loan KNOWS THEY HAVE TO PAY IT BACK. the 1% is rather big and is filled with people who did nothing wrong but work their ass off.
-
ok correction payroll taxes are all flat rates cept for SS. 2nd the bottum 50% which is 50% of all *taxpayers * not everyone in the usa is not even 4%. 28% may not sound like a large precent but it is a lot compared to how many people are actualy in then 1%. and remember whos actualy in the 1% its not only billionares
roughly 365k household income a year = top 1%. lower 50% is 48k household income a year

@reotardodickcraprio "Personally, I'd be embarrassed if I were these folks. They have the right to ask for what they want, but its so degrading and not to sound cliche, but very pathetic to watch these people."
Why is that? What is it about people doing what they can to keep this country from turning into Nazi Germany that everybody finds so distasteful?
-
@reotardodickcraprio "worked at a restaurant all through school and lots of other odd jobs that paid $7.50 or less p/h. I have no debt, and never took out student loans. I was raised by a single mother with no money. I worked on oil rigs busting my ass"
Oh look at that. You are doing just fine, so everyone else should just shut the fuck up about corporate welfare, unequal tax rates and the complete undermining of democracy. Got it.
-
@doc2850 Fact remains, the top 1% has 40% of the wealth and yet pays only 28% of the TOTAL taxes. Let me repeat that, TOTAL taxes, as in income tax plus social security plus medi-care plus sales taxes, etc., etc., etc. Why is this a system you support? If you are against welfare, why do you support welfare for the rich? If you are against socialism, why do you support the government getting involved in the economy like this, propping up big businesses and banks and basically GIVING them money??
-
@doc2850 "according to u the rich should be able to collect food stamps and get paid welfare."
Um... I have no idea where this came from, and it makes no sense. However, the rich ARE receiving government hand outs in the form of bailouts paid for by the rest of us, as well as lower taxes.
"the reason theirs a cap is because the rich will usualy not collect it unless they are complete a holes"
Now I am thoroughly confused. What are you talking about? Social security? They collect that too.

@mdlittle5466 *greed

@mdlittle5466 Personally, I'd be embarrassed if I were these folks. They have the right to ask for what they want, but its so degrading and not to sound cliche, but very pathetic to watch these people. They really do sound lazy and just want everything handed to them. Disagree all you want, but I've watched every OWS video on YouTube and have yet to be convinced that these people are simply protesting corporate green. They all want something.
-
@mdlittle5466 I see nothing wrong with a challenge. If it were easy, everyone would be a making six figures and the price of things would go up even further, and therefore making people that earn six figures the lower class again and at the same spot the average American citizen is at now. I earned everything that I've got and came from literally NOTHING. NO family money, nada. That's the beauty of this country. If you have the drive to make something of your self, it is very possible.
-
@reotardodickcraprio ...and what about all the other individuals who are just as experienced as you are? Do they simply get cast off by the wayside becuase you were able to network better then they? We should be working together to establish a better society - not competing against each other so we can hand over the blatantly corrupt social system to the next generation where they will face the same problems that we refuse to address which would not only be illogical, it would be irresponsible.
It's easier to blabber "Get a job" than learn what the Occupy Wall St. movement is actually about.
