Principal Urges Students to Struggle Against Protocols

At the Montebello Armenian Genocide Memorial, Alex Pilibos High School principal Nazo Apanian encourages his students to stand firm in support of the Armenian Cause and against the Turkey-Armenia Protocols.

Students had requested to time-off from school to express their frustration at Armenian Pres. Serge Sarkisian's decision to sign a controversial set of protocols which would call into question the Armenian Genocide and undermine efforts to secure justice for that crime against humanity.

Pres. Sargisyan was scheduled to visit the Genocide memorial on October 4th, but changed his plans to avoid meeting with community members opposing the Turkey-Armenia protocols. Reports of an impromptu visit on Monday, October 5th brought several hundred Armenian Americans from throughout the Southland, once again, to the Montebello monument, to express their outrage.
