Trying to explain some of my muting / ghost note techniques
Dont get your hopes up for the full explanation of the intro bassline (sorry, i think im promising that in the start), i only explain the muted / ghost note technique.

Hey Marlowe, what strings and gauge are you using on this bass. I have a Stingray classic and i love it but it is still not sounding quite the same. Is the pre Ernie Ball that much different?

@dslapster64 Dont remeber the barnd but the gauge s 45 - 105. Im playinf through a lot of amp sims and fx (Korg px4d) so yuodont hear the clean bass sound at all

I'm really enjoying learning from your videos and hearing your great playing and excellent taste in music! I've been a guitarist for 30 years and I am only now beginning to actually learn to play the bass instead of playing it like a guitar player (which means badly!) What sort of practice amp do you use or what can you recommend? I just bought a beautiful '77 Stingray identical to yours and I would love to plug in, but it sounds horrible through my guitar amps:(

First of all, thanks for this great lesson, you are the master of bass!

I have a big issue, and it's very frustrating, when I try to slap strings I get no proper sound like it sounds when I pull the string, when I add more volume on my amp pulling makes very loud and strong sound but when I slap I just hear a bang. Is this my fault or my bass guitar is bad?

I have SX Jazz Bass, and small 15watt combo amp.
