  • @essentialpassion qardash, men iranli olmaq istemirem. Men Azerbayjanliyam. Shimaldaki azerbayjanlilar menim qardashim olduqu kimi, Cenubdakilar da qardashlarimdi. Eybi yokh, siz ozunuzu iranli hesab eleyin, men de ozumu turanli yani turk. Amma bizi birleshdiren bir umumi jahat var: siz de biz de azerbayjanliyiq. Danishdiqimiz dilimiz eynidi, adetlerimiz oxshardi, eyni milletik. Shehriyar Azerbayjan deye-deye dunyadan kochdu, amma bu gun biz azerbayjanlilar biri-birimizin qedrini bilmirik.

  • @essentialpassion totally agree. I am not racist or nationalist. I have persian friends and some of my relatives from South Azerbaijan (Iran) - those who moved to Tehran- also have mixed families. There is nothing wrong with that. No nation is better than others. It is never my point. There are students from Iran studying abroad who is afraid of admitting that they are azerbaijanians from Iran. It is sad. They fear to socialize with us because of possible danger when they are back home.

  • @essentialpassion oops, you didn't prove anything about Azerbaijan being iranian land. We didn't discuss that. We discussed ethnicity of people from both North Azerbaijan (independent) and South Azerbaijan (iranian). I ignored your argument about DNA because 1. I didn't see that research conclusions myself; 2. sorry but I can't get how it was possible that DNA of the people from north is different from DNA of their relatives from south. More than half of northerns have some relatives in south.

  • baba tu dige che gohi hasti? khafeh sho boro loonet ra bedeh? khodat ra ham be esme irani moarefi nakon jengeh khanoom.

  • @essentialpassion I am also full of pride for being a citizen of Azerbaijan Republic which was the first democratic parlamentary republic in the whole east (in 1918) and first to give women right to vote, even before it was done in United States! I am proud of my country which was the place where Nobel brothers earned their money to establish a foundation which today gives honored prizes to scholars from all over the world.

  • @essentialpassion Great Empire? great and old nation? you are not talking about 16-19th centuries empire, are you? that empire was created, rulled and destroyed by turks - Sefevids, Avshars and Qajars who had nothing to do either with persians or old iranian ethnic groups. Yes, that empire is a great page written by TURKS in the history of Iran and Azerbaijan.

  • @essentialpassion first, cheating, corruption and etc, you can see in every country. It has nothing to do with brotherhood or something. Those are crimes. Second, however we are not satisfied with the level of democracy in our country, Azerbaijan Republic is way ahead of Iran in terms of rights of ethnic, religious minorities. Every ethnic group enjoys equal rights and is not subject to insult or mistreatment. Everybody is free to speak and study in their mother language. That is the difference.

  • @ramellaable :)) singing an Azeri song does not make one a separatist! just get to know her more! she is a hardcore nationalist who put her thriving career on stakes just for the sake of Iran.

  • @ramellaable Although ethnic jokes are wrong and foolish, there are not unique to Iranians. The English, welsh and Irish tell them too. But one cannot justify attitudes of a group of thugs and undereducated people to that of whole nation. I and my family know of a lot of educated, sophisticated and kind Persian friends, and have close relatives from other parts of Iran. In fact, since the modern times there are many Azeri and Persian, Gilaki, and etc. intermarriages.
