Like bacteria swarming on a plate of agar, humans have swarmed across the planet. Like bacteria on a plate of agar, humans consume everything they encounter as they spread across the planet. When the bacteria have consumed all the available nutrients, they stop spreading. When the bacteria release the waste products of their consumption, they poison themselves. Finally, the bacteria both starve and poison themselves. Bacteria have no brains, but they have existed billions of years. How much longer will humans last?
