UNLIKE THE OFFICIAL RELEASE OF THE NEW STACCATOS/ FIVE MAN ELECTRICAL BAND DOUBLE CD. THE ONE I HAVE YOU CAN HEAR THE HARPSICHORD WHEN IT'S PLAYING. THE CD VERSION HAS IT MIXED OUT . WELL A,MOST YOU CAN HEAR A BIT OF IT IN THE BACKGROUND. BUT WHEN IT'S PROMINENT ON MY MIX IT DISAPPEARS ON THE CD. MINE IS A BIT ROUGHER I HAD TO CLEAN IT DIGITALLY AND TWEAK IT A BIT . IT'S NOT REAL STEREO PER SE. THE CHANNELS ARE MIXED WITH VOCALS ON ONE SIDE AND MIXED DOWN ON THE OTHER. SAME WITH THE INSTRUMENTS EXCEPT FOR THE VIOLINS WHICH ARE DISPLAYED PROMINENTLY ON THE BOTH SIDES. THERE'S A NOISE WHICH SOUNDS LIKE SOMEBODY BUMPED INTO SOMETHING DURING THE HARPSICHORD PLAYING BUT IT'S VERY BRIEF. IF I CAN I'LL PLAY THE CD VERSION AS WELL. FOR MY CANADIAN BUDDIES OUT THERE. I'VE DONE IT AGAIN. AND DON'T ASK WHERE I GOT THIS VERSION.

  • Never heard this before. I like it, but it's not as good as the Mojo Men hit, which is terrific.

However, "Half Past Midnight" and "Didn't Know The Time" ARE as good as the Mojo Men hit. "Fancy Dancin' Man" too, actually.

  • Lovely version.

  • gORGEOUS. tHANK'S FOR SHARING.

  • The story behind this song is that it was never officially released. When assembling the double CD set, we acquired a tape copy of the stereo acetate (the same that this YouTube version was sourced from). We were very anxious to release this & the 2 other tracks on the acetate but the quality was poor. We had EMI search the vaults and amazingly they sent us a CD copy of the master - sadly, the mix they sent didn't unclude the harpsichord. Given the choice, we would have kept it in.

  • Nice post, real dedication. Cheers

  • I've always loved this version!!!!....Great upload...thank you for sharing...stay gold

  • Stu (pre-dimentia) story as I understand, quit before the 'cola commercial'(?). Before my time, but guessing 63-64.

  • Learn something every day..I thought Rick Belanger was the original drummer and lead singer..or was there actually a time when Dean H fronted the group at the very beginning/

  • Stu, the first drummer is in Vancouver and in hospital. Don't know about Peter.

  • Went to highschool and University with the fellow on the right in the album cover you display, Peter. I know he was the original lead guitar player but he left before they became successful. Do you have any info on him?
