Bangalore power trio Parachute XVI bring back the best of 1968 with a spirited reading of an old Blind Joe Reynolds tune (most famously covered by Eric Clapton and Cream).

Captured live and dangerous at the Himalayan Blues Festival in Kathmandu, October 2009, just before a power cut turned off all the lights, and the music. The band will feature in an upcoming documentary about the festival.

  • Absolutely correct. Sorry for repeating what I heard without checking ...

This puts the boys from Bangalore in a proud tradition though. Just like Cream, they send us searching back to research and listen to the originals.

  • These guys play a cool version of the song Cream covered. I don't think the original was Sonny Boy Williamson, though. Google "Blind Joe Reynolds" or look him up on Wikipedia. Ananth gets a great sound out of the Gibson Firebird!
