@BladeTapeCA judging by what i saw in your youtube video if you are an amateur you would want to use regular tape to protect your blade.

@NHLArchive After vigorous testing with players on every level, we have found 1mm cloth provides no additional protection. Most stick failures, nowadays, is predominantly at the shaft. Composite blade technology has improved drastically over the last decade to increase performance and durability. @BladeTapeCA well i have done the same test and when i put an extra piece of tape on the bottom it has saved my stick blades, if i am lazy and let the tape wear away and don't replace it then the bottom of the blade begins to wear fast. Unfortunately because i know the bottom of my stick would be harmed i don't think the samples would be worthwhile. I believe you that it probably gives you a decent grip of the puck , but there is no way you can change my mind about the blade bottom.
