Trailer feito especialmente para o Sunny Side of the Doc.
Project Title -- Ultimate Brown Bull

Project Log Line -- A 70 years old boxer still in activity confronting his past while training his 9 children to become Olympic champions.

Project Description - A 120 minutes documentary for all ages. Three years after getting back into shape for a fight with an ex-pupil that never happened, Brown Bull puts all his hope into his children's careers while remembering his past and meets one of his worst adversaries: King Zulu. The documentary proposes a confrontation among several versions of the same man, a character feared and at the same time greatly admired. Brown Bull was one of the precursors of jiu jitsu in Brazil, which came to be nationally known in the 60's, but he preferred to fight for his inconsequent life style instead of winning important boxing titles. Today, in his 70's, Brown Bull has not lost his physical vigor or the passion to fight and accepts challenges from fighters half his age to pay the bills.

The story will be told by his own recorded interviews without any narrator voice. Other statements will be set up taking into consideration moments of silence, gestures and manias in the way each one communicates. The documentary will show several contradicting statements about the same incidents, leaving what is truth or not to the audience's imaginary. Besides the interviews, the documentary also will show personalities interacting with each other and with their surrounding environment.

The documentary will recreate a fight between Brown Bull and King Zulu through contradicting statements, mixing several versions from fighters, the referee, the audience, some who saw it on TV or radio and from others who were never there. Bull's lifestyle at that time; Bohemian life, crimes, prison and a string of unsuccessful fights. A training routine and his kids fights in and out of Brazil. What Brown Bull and the family feel living so far from the older children. The kid's sacrifices to become Olympic boxing champions. The unexpected meeting between King Zulu and Brown Bull. King Zulu helping Bull get back into shape while talking about their controversial fights they had in the 80's. How each one deals with victory and defeat and their plans for the future. The kid's change of behavior when Brown Bull is in the corner, the family's relationship in and out of the ring and the real possibility of one of them representing Brazil in the Olympics in London, 2012. Brown Bull and King Zulu wind up the documentary recreating decisive moments from their fights.

Project Themes -- Family values, friendship, the preparation for death, the cycle of life, time, the pursuit of a dream, regret, history of Brazilian jiu jitsu, wrestling and amateur boxing, the sexual revolution in the 60`s, the relation between bohemians and dictatorship and the growth of violence.

Project Status -- The life of Brown Bull and his family has been captured since 2005 and in 2007 we made a 52 minutes version for TV called "Brown Bull". To make an ultimate and complete version of Brown Bull`s life we`re planning to use a lot of interviews and images from the last 5 years and follow him and his kids all the way to the London Olympics.
