US veterans face increased suicide risk - 23 May 08

Al Jazeera's Rosiland Jordan reports on the increasing number of US veterans that are committing suicide and how one family in particular are dealing with their son's decision to take his own life.

New reports suggest that veterans of US wars are committing suicide at a stunning rate.

A growing number of those are recent veterans who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Thousands of US troops are returning from the war zones with 'Post Traumatic Stress Disorder' and in the most extreme cases the mental scars leads to the ultimate anguish for their family.

the problem is that there is one way and only one way to get benefits and the help you need... i was lucky that my county had a branch that specifically was there to coach your way through all the red tape... they are pritty good at weeding out the fakers but they get veterans the help they need...

This is such bullshit.. the world has always had these problems, but now that everythings modern it's all like: hmyes lets analyze every single soldier; and lo and behold it's such a big headline that there's problems readjusting to civilian society, and depression after they are sent home..
