Any war involves politics. The only question is did you accomplish the mission that you were going to in Vietnam? When you answer this, answer the same question about Iraq, Korea....

US forces never lost a battle in major Vietnam. We werent defeated by force of arms, we were defeated by Walter Cronkite. Learn the difference between military and political defeat. The big battle of Vietnam was the Tet Offensive which militarily was a stunning, backbreaking defeat for the North Vietnamese, but Cronkite came on and said "The war is now un-winable"...LBJ said "if we've lost Cronkite, we've lost America", but the NVA lost nearly 1/2 a million men during Tet. USAFs dont lose.

God Bless these troops and help them in accomplish their mission. The altitude is going to be a problem in Afghanistan, but the American Soldier/Sailor/Marine/Airman has never met a foe they could not defeat in combat.
