Outland Walkthrough Level 23 - City - The Forgotten Quarter

This walkthrough of The Forgotten Quarter in Outland will help you battle your way to the Guardian Key for this world, then bring it to the boss gate, and prepare to take on the Mother of Eyes.

Back in The Maze very briefly, drop
down, and charge through the wall on the right. Head through the gate
beyond, into The Forgotten Quarter. There, smash through a wall, and
battle a few warriors. Ground-pound through the floor, then smash
through the wall on the right at the bottom of the ladder to gather
some treasure. You'll have to check back here after you've acquired
the Launch skill to take full advantage of this secret area. For now,
head left, and drop down. Up ahead, you can either use the platforms
to make a slow descent, or just drop down and take your chances. At
the bottom, break through some flooring, and head to the right, where
you'll face a blue giant dragon. There's treasure to be had in the
room up above, but you'll have to navigate the fonts and warriors
there to get it. There's a more easily accessible Mark up at the top
of the narrow opening just to the right.

Move forward, and hit the blue switch
to summon a platform. Ride that up to a room filled with platforms
and energy. The energy is all blue here, and the platforms will only
hold still while you're red, descending when you're blue, making for
an interesting jumping experience. The are also jellyfish aplenty
here, all red. You can run and jump through the lower levels here
easily enough while remaining blue, but the jellyfish are pretty
thick near the top, so you'll likely have to use some combination of
colors to move forward. When you reach the top, you'll find both the
Guardian Key for this world, and a switch you should hit. On the way
down, keep to the right, and you should find an alcove, where, behind
a smashable wall, you'll find a health upgrade station.

Head back to the bottom, and loop
around toward the right side of the level. Smash through a section of
floor, dispatch a few jellyfish, then battle a red version of the
giant warrior you fought earlier. The strategy is mostly the same
here: hit his ankles or head, whichever is vulnerable. When he
unleashes his energy stream, though, you'll notice it starts out
blue, just like the last guy, which is a problem here. Switch to
blue, and ride it out. He may go back to his previous pattern, or he
may unleash a red stream, which is your chance to switch back, and
pound him. After taking him out, hit the switch just ahead.

Now ride the platform you just
unlocked, switching to avoid damage as you rise. Take out the giant
jellyfish ahead, then wall-jump upward. There's treasure on the left,
accessible while you're red, so time out the blue energy fonts above.
Now head right. In the large room ahead, make your way up the
multicolor platforms, waiting to move on to the next color until the
cannons here do the same. Hit the switch at the top, then head for
the gate you just unlocked. Move left, fighting a few warriors, one
of which is giant. Then ride the blue platform up, and head through
the gate just to the right.

@berylman You can also just sit and slash at the big guy. When he sits with the shield, you can also jump and attack his head as well.

I got stuck at the large shielded swordsman at 7:50. I could have sworn I tried the sliding attack and it didn't work. Maybe I was wrong color or timed it wrong. Anyways thanks, back to it!
