I did vinyl, but got tired of lugging gear. Sure you can put on a show for the crowd, but most of these DJs are in a booth where you can't even see them scratch, backspin, or any of the clever tricks you can do with vinyl - which sounds better doing with vinyl. The performance is the tracks dropped, the mash-ups thrown down, and/or video that is playing at the same time. Usually you're too busy dancing to even care.
