Aftermath of LTTEs Biggest Recent Counter Attack 2009 Mar 07

The biggest counter-attack in recent LTTE history was launched on 2009 Mar 05 around 3AM to breach the FDL of SLA 58th Div. The attack was a catastrophic failure resulting 101 confirmed LTTE deaths. SLA has so far recovered 53 bodies of LTTE cadres belong to Radha and Charles Antony Brigades. Later this afternoon LTTE used a explosive laden truck to breach the FDL again. The truck was exploded by DLA heavy weapons resulting more deaths of cadres following the truck increasing the total death toll during the last 3 days to 150.

I am a Sinhalese.What happened in '83 was appaling & a disgrace. However, it was not all sinhalese against tamils but a few organised goups who perpetrated these crimes. The govt at the time of JR should have taken strong action. There were many in the Sinahala community who helped the Tamils to safety at the time too. Whilst not in any way excusing the riots, it should be rememberd also that the trigger was the killing & chopping up of 13 soldiers by Prabhakaran designed to incite a riot.
