Learn how to get a good looking portrait video or photo outside on a sunny day. The trick is in using a light reflector to bounce the sunlight back onto your subject in order to hide the harsh shadows.

This technique can be used for videos, films, and photos. It's simple and quick but produces good results.

  • Hey Tom, Looks like you're holding the U-Flycam in your preview for the next tutorial. Is that the U-Flycam?

  • @R3APER24 I believe so... it wasn't mine, and I only used it that one time... wasn't very happy with it... kept on tilting side to side.

  • Does anyone make a stand for the reflectors? Something like maybe a tripod with clips or something?

  • @MegaheroEntertainmen There are, but in order for them to work you'll need to put a lot of sandbags to weight it down or the wind will flip it over... so it's kinda pointless if you're with a small crew cuz sendbags are not something you'll want to carry around

  • Piece of styrofoam is also great. BTW How about some nightshot tutorial (how to do that looking natural)? Greetings from Poland Tomek.

  • @darnoc666 Yup... the next tutorial will be about filming outside at night... there is a short preview of it at the end of this video.

  • @MegaheroEntertainmen

There are stands called cutter stand or cookie stands. You can try them...

  • Great tutorial, as always. Thanks!

  • @oneeyedgeek thats what I was thinking. lol

  • @TomAntosFilms Another great tutorial. I want to know toward the end of the video I seen a strobe. Is that because of the CMOS sensor reaction to the instant change in illumination triggered by the reflector ?
