This is the footage that was shown during the Watchmen panel at the 2008 comicon. It features many scenes not found in the teaser trailers which have been released so far, including shots of the Minutemen, Richard Nixon and more.
Music by Philip Glass.
Enjoy.

  • is it me or does veidt look too small?and does anyone know how/if there going to do the bernard bits?(ive seen pics of the news stand but the stuff with the comic?)maybe they'll just have the reader of the comic bernard saying that the ending doesnt make sense and just ends abruptly which would work. i dont know how people will react to the ending if they havnt read it

  • Agreed on Ozzymandias - he looks far too young. Snyder has said he wanted younger actors because he wanted to cast them in the Minutemen flashbacks. I know Jude Law (who has an Ozzymandias tattoo) really wanted the part.

The Tales of the Black Freighter sequences (the pirate comic) are being animated, but they'll be on a separate DVD available in March. When Watchmen comes out on DVD a special extended edition will incorporate them.

  • Oh, and the movie ending has been changed from the giant squid thingy to a chain of nuclear blasts around the planet. The ending is totally different from the comic book, although thematically similar.

  • Look at where Jon's watch stops.

Snyder's paying CLOSE attention to detail.

  • I noticed that too....don't recall it being in the comic but it's a nice touch, weaving the 'five minutes to midnight' theme further into the narrative.

  • give me a link please. i haven't seen this. ill try to explain then

  • just one week away!!!

  • I think the main reason for hte squid being cut out was for the audiences who havent read watchmen - perhaps it would be a little to far out their concept - for NON-comic books readers out there...I mean, as long as the alternative pretty much provides hte same impact and reason that the squid was created for in the first place - I'm not really too bummed out about it

  • The apparently telekinetic boy propelling a knife into a mirror and a revolver hammer being cocked are not in the GN...

A revolver would chime with the recurrent clock motif though.

  • It's by Phillip Glass

  • If this is true, then why are there trailers with a giant squid laid out on a beach (or maybe snow...)?.

  • I too, would love to know the name of the song.

  • jude law has screwed up a lot of films, I dont think he's right for that character anyhow.

  • what is the name of that song?
