The story of two teenage Russian boys whose father returns home suddenly after a twelve year absence. He takes the boys on a holiday to a remote island on a lake that turns into a test of manhood of almost mythic proportions.

La película es de unos ninos que se juntan con su papa después de algunos años y ellos quieren divertirse con él, pero el padre los trata como una mierda, pero al final el padre es diferente y luego se muere y los niños se sientan mal por el. Es un buena película :)

Sure it is, its like Jesus Christ when the father is on the bed, sleeping and when they family eats it's like last dinner... Good job directing, and if you can see the recorded scenes have alot of coment with art of pictures thats why it's in the end a play of pictures... very good job!

The return is of Communism and USSA. After collapse of USSA, people started to miss the olde golden days. Mom is earth, symbolizing Russia the land; father is water, the return of power; Andrei is air, represent the spirit of following his father; Ivan is fire, rebel for democracy.

The tragic part is they had their father for a whole week, but resenting the whole time. Once they lost him forever, they miss what they could have, a father, who had bigger things to deal with.
